5 TRIPODS I USE To create content
And before you ask… Yes, I use all five.
Throughout my content creator journey, I have put my phone and camera through many trials and errors to get that perfect shot.
From balancing my phone on floating shelves to capture flat-lay views to placing my Canon Rebel on top of stacked textbooks to create a makeshift tripod— I have done it all.
That is why when I started to get serious about content creation, I focused on investing in the proper tools to take my production to the next level.
Tripods come in all different shapes, sizes, and prices. Depending on what type of content you are filming, you may need one that is a bit more heftier than one you might be able to fit in your pocket or bag.
I have found that these 5 tripods are an absolute must-have when it comes to the range of photos and videos I take for my socials and other projects.
You have probably seen this one all over TikTok. I didn’t get the hype at first—until I actually started using it. It can stick onto almost any surface and hold devices as small as an iPhone and as big as an iPad.
This is great to have when you want to film GRWMs (or watch YouTube videos while you curl your hair). I carry it around in my purse 24/7 because not only does it take up zero space in your bag, but you never know when you’ll get the perfect opportunity to film a #fitcheck or #haul when you are out and about.
I used a TikTok shop coupon to purchase the AirStick for under $10, but it is also available to order from Amazon.
2. ATUMTEK 62” Selfie Stick Tripod with Bluetooth remote
This is one of the first tripods I ever started using when I got into content creation. It is so handy to use and so lightweight that it doesn't even feel like you're carrying around a 6 ft. tripod when it compacts down to 12”.
The Bluetooth remote has to be one of my favorite features, however, because it makes taking photos so much easier when you are shooting by yourself. It connects to your phone so easily and has a fairly long battery life.
3. Canon Tripod Grip
While this one is only compatible with Canon products, this tripod helps me easily frame my shot and minimize any shaking.
I specifically use this tripod when I know I’m going to be constantly moving my shots. Whether it be for vlogging purposes or interviews. Just like the ATUMTEK, it also comes with a Bluetooth remote, but I don’t use it as often as I probably could.
Like the Airstick and ATUMTEK, it is compact and easy to take on the go, and is overall a great standard tabletop tripod for day-to-day filming and sit-down videos.
4. Yayusi Portable Ring Light with Stand
I can safely say that this is by far my all-time favorite (and most used) tripod. It is extremely sturdy, and the three settings on the ring light give you the best lighting in any video or photo. The fact that it fits a 10-inch, cordless ring light is mindblowing.
I use this tripod for almost all of the videos where I am sitting down, filming trends for TikTok or IG reels, and the occasional flat-lay shot.
Out of all the tripods on this list, this is the one I recommend the MOST for all of your contact needs.
5. SLIK Sprint 150 Aluminum Tripod
When it comes to photography, I love taking portraits. So I need the steadiest mount to capture myself or other models. Additionally, I use this quite a bit when I am filming videos for YouTube.
It is extremely durable and adjustable to the height and angle you desire and is made for light transport, unlike other bulky and heavy tripods.
The 3-position adjustable angle leg locks can lock each leg independently at 15, 40 or 70-degree angles. With a 64” extension height, it can collapse down to 19” and comes with its own carrying bag.
I can always rely on it to keep my Canon still and secure, and can easily tuck it away when not in use.
